Oregon–South Korea Aviation Delegation
A five-day program convening South Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure & Transport (MOLIT), the Korea Institute of Aviation Safety Technology (KIAST), and approximately eight Korean aviation companies with Oregon counterparts across Portland, Scappoose, Pendleton, Hermiston, Hood River, and Tillamook.

The South Korean aviation delegation will visit Oregon to explore investment, collaboration, and U.S. market entry opportunities across aviation, uncrewed systems, and advanced air mobility. The visit strengthens bilateral relationships, assesses Oregon's aviation infrastructure and innovation ecosystem, and establishes pathways for long-term commercial, research, and governmental partnerships.
Oregon offers a uniquely diverse statewide airport system, a supportive regulatory environment, strong public-sector commitment, and established industry clusters in UAS, AAM, imaging, and advanced manufacturing. Rural, coastal, and urban airfields provide unmatched opportunities for testing, development, and operationalization — all within one state.
~25 delegates representing Korean government, industry, and R&D institutions — including MOLIT, KIAST, and roughly eight aviation companies spanning UAS, AAM, manufacturing, integration, and services. Sectors of interest include UAS, AAM, aerospace manufacturing, R&D, workforce training, aviation services, and general aviation operations.
Oregon intends to position itself as the preferred U.S. launch point for Korean aviation companies by demonstrating statewide testing and manufacturing readiness, strong cross-agency alignment, an active industry ecosystem with proven capabilities, and clear partnerships in R&D, workforce training, and commercialization. Collaboration avenues include U.S.-based manufacturing and integration facilities, technology development and testing partnerships, joint use of UAS ranges and regulatory coordination, and workforce training and university-linked innovation programs.
